ST Electronics To Provide Solutions
To The Charity Sector

Singapore, 10 September 2009 — ST Electronics  (e-Services)  Pte  Ltd,  a  subsidiary  of ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd, has been appointed by the Charity Council in Singapore as the provider of a shared services platform, iServe or Integrated Shared Services for Excellence.  iServe is specially tailored to provide a comprehensive suite of professional functions for charities, Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) and the National Sports Associations (NSAs).  The service was launched by the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, in September 2009.  ST Electronics (Info-Software Systems) Pte Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited.

iServe will help to relieve the targeted organisations of common administrative processes, freeing them to focus on delivering their core services and programmes to their beneficiaries.  By tapping into the shared pool of professional resources, these organisations will be able to further improve their internal controls, processes and governance.

The three-year pilot programme will be provided by ST Electronics from October 2009 up to 30 September 2012.  For a start, iServe will focus on finance and accounting services, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Financial and Management Reports, and Audit Management.  MCYS funding from the Voluntary Welfare Organisations - Charities Capability Fund (VCF), is made available to charities and IPCs to enable them to defray the cost of engaging iServe.

We are delighted to be working with the MCYS on iServe. iServe handles the confidential information of Charities, IPCs and NSAs that subscribes to its services. We are fully aware of the importance of confidentiality, and we are committed to respecting the privacy and contractual terms of non-disclosure. We will ensure that only the respective charities will have access to their own records managed by us.
